Finding Our Voices Offers Poetry Writing Workshop

Have you ever wondered how you could express yourself through poems?

On Saturday, February 5, 2011, from 10AM to 1PM, Finding Our Voices will offer a poetry writing workshop.  Karen Sucharski will facilitate this inspiring workshop. Karen promises to stimulate your creative juices. She says, “Poetry is the language of emotion.” She says it helps keep her grounded in feeling, which alleviates her depression, anxiety and even PTSD symptoms. “Once the words are out of me and on the page, I don’t have to live with them anymore,” she says. “I can visit them if I want to or I can just close the book.”

Karen doesn’t shy away from any subject matter—often converting ugly truths and experience into thoughtful, sometimes beautiful metaphors that evoke deep emotions and are always real. She has worked with the non-profit Finding Our Voices for the past three years to perform poetry about abuse. She has edited and contributed to the past two poetry anthologies for the group.

Please join us at the Business of Art Center, 513 Manitou Ave, Manitou Springs, CO. RSVP is appreciated but not required, to fovartshow@gmail.com
