Joyce Aubrey, founder, is proud to announce that Finding Our Voices: Healing Art Activities for Survivors of Sexual Assault, has been established as an official non-profit organization.
The mission of Finding Our Voices is to empower sexual assault survivors by providing opportunities to showcase their healing artistic endeavors.
Throughout the year Finding Our Voices facilitates workshops for survivors to experience the therapeutic benefits of creativity. We have poetry-writing, journal-writing, card-making, process-painting and other activities.
Finding Our Voices art exhibit showcases artistic expressions of survivors of sexual abuse and their allies. Artists are invited to exhibit in the annual April FOV Art Show for Sexual Abuse Awareness Month (SAAM) The April exhibit provides a safe, empowering opportunity for trauma survivors and their allies to freely express their feelings, to honor their process of healing, and to share their paths of growth. The annual event also serves to raise awareness in the community and advocate for the prevention of sexual abuse.
Finding Our Voices also has speakers available to talk about sexual abuse and the FOV players offer skits that provide education and information.
